Mental Health First Aid – Training Available Posted on April 3, 2024March 4, 2025 Ever been in a situation where you thought someone needed help or was in distress, but you didn’t know how to respond? In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month (May), 51°µÍø Mental Health is proud to offer Mental Health First Aid Training to interested members of our community. Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches people how to understand and respond to someone who is experiencing a mental health or substance abuse challenge. Participants will learn: Risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns. Strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Where to turn for help. The course is eight hours long, requiring a mix of online and in-person sessions. Early registration is encouraged, as the course is limited to 25 participants. to secure your place KEY INFORMATION: Dates: Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (Session 1, in-person)  Tuesday, May 14, 2024 (Session 2, in-person) Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. (both May 7 and May 14, 2024) Location: 29 School Street, Concord NH (Parking is available nearby at the School Street Parking Garage, 17 School Street) Online: Pre-work to be completed prior to the course (tasks take about 30 minutes to complete) After the in-person sessions, there is some online work required. Participants will then take an online final exam to complete their certification.
